THE MAGIC OF THE ALPS' HERBS

"Les Herbes Aromatiques du Grand Saint-Bernard” (the Spices of the Grand Saint-Bernard) market herbal teas and seasonings made from aromatic herbs. A vast majority of these herbs are cultivated and picked in the Valais mountains (CH).
Here is a glimpse into this incredible world of plants becoming herbs and ultimately sublime spice mixes and herbal teas on our tables.

ALL ABOUT LOCAL COLLABORATIONS

"Les Herbes Aromatiques du Grand Saint-Bernard” have always been closely tied to its local area and longstanding collaborations.
It is mainly supplied by the "Valplantes" cooperative, which cultivates its herbs in the Grand Saint-Bernard region and in the Crans-Montana region - both in the Swiss Alps (Valais, CH).
The spice mixes are carried out in collaboration with the FOVAHM Foundation - a foundation that takes care of disabled people and works in the "Epices du Grand Saint-Bernard" company every day as part of a sheltered workshop.

AND ALL PRODUCTS ARE ORGANIC

All products by "Les Herbes Aromatiques du Grand Saint-Bernard" are certified "Bio Suisse". It is the official Swiss label that guarantees a production of ecological, fair and economical food, from the fields to the plate.
"Bio Suisse" is the Federation of Swiss organic agricultural companies, founded in 1981.

Part of Morand, in Martigny since 1889

“Les Herbes Aromatiques du Grand Saint-Bernard” were taken over in 2015 by the “Morand” distillery - one of the economical pillars in Valais (CH), founded in Martigny back in 1889. It is still today a family-owned company, with deep local roots and a profound respect for tradition. That's Valais!

“Les Herbes Aromatiques du Grand Saint-Bernard” produce both: seasonings and herbal teas. "L'Etoile des Glaciers" (the Star of the Glacier) is a herbal tea with Edelweiss - our absolute favorite, all the more so as it accompanies raclette superbly.

THE COMPANY'S BOOK OF RECIPES

The recipes of the whole "Morand" business are passed down through the generations and kept secret in the company’s ”Book of Recipes” which “must be consulted and stored in a safe place,” as the founder indicates on the Book's first page, in the late 19th century.
This Book very much reflects the company's values and traditions.
Have a glimpse at the products ingredient lists and you'll have an idea of the magic mixes elaborated with high quality ingredients, most coming from the mountains in the Swiss Alps.
